Our Philosophy
At Switchback Coffee, we believe that it's about more than coffee. Coffee nurtures gathering and fosters connections. Coffee can inspire you to get out there and tackle whatever summits lie ahead. That's why we patiently craft-roast green coffee beans in small-batches in an effort to bring you the best coffee, creating experiences as unique as the wild West Coast.

We offer lighter-roasted single origin coffees, crowd-pleasing blends, and our signature "Straight Shot" espresso. From Decaf to our Boomerang French roast, there's something for everyone.

RoASTS
Small-batch, craft coffee
We roast green coffee from exclusively BC suppliers, all beans are above fair-trade prices, and when possible organically grown and from women-owned coffee co-ops. We then carefully crab-roast these remarkable beans in small batches. Inspired by the outdoors, we've borrowed the alpine trail marking system to indicate the roast level (green circle = lighter / blue square = medium / black diamond = darker). There's a roast for all coffee connoisseurs.
Daybreaker is an approachable coffee; a perfect way to start your day. A blend of Peruvian and Colombian coffee, roasted separately and then brought together in perfect harmony as a post-roast blend. Kinda like early-morning runs and crisp fall leaves.
Tasting notes: fruit-forward, apple crisp, light berry nose, some acidity balanced with a slight milk-chocolate, nutty finish.
The one that does it all. The one you can rely on to get you, not just to the summit, but give you repose to soak in that view. Versatile and dynamic, Summit Trail is a blend of Peru, Colombia, and Uganda Coffees. Sorta like that feeling when you and your friends reach the top and just take it in for a moment.
Tasting notes: well-rounded, soft fruit flavour of citrus and apple, low acidity, full-mouth feel, smooth , slight nut and chocolate, light smokey finish.
Straight Shot gets to the point and gets the job done. You see the forest and the trees and you navigate both with poise and grace. Often used as an espresso, but also an excellent brew any way you like. A blend of Uganda and Peru beans roasted together, these two coffees compliment each other perfectly. First chairlift & fresh-tracks vibes.
Tasting notes: Bold yet playful. Approachable first sip with a slight berry nose. Balanced through the middle, slightly smokey, caramely, full-mouth finish
Custom Roasting & Branding
We can custom roast coffee any way you like and can package it with your logo or design of choice. For weddings, marketing, corporate events & branding, and nonprofits too! We ask for a minimum 25 bag (at x300g) order on custom branding.

We're nimble and quick. If you'd like to see your image on a coffee that's unique to your business, look no further. We're happy to work with you to offer a unique fundraising options. Our Charity Brew program means we'll partner together with you to support your cause.
